I should have a dog. Went to the pound today and found six that were awful cute and about the right size, shape, and age. Narrowed it down to two: a boxer mix and a yellow lab mix. Then, on Sunday mom, dad, and I met another dog that one of mom's friends doesn't have room for (looks like a beagle/boxer mix). While I like all three, I really like the lab mix. She's about fifty pounds, which is about ten more than I was looking for, but she's my favorite.
As per mom's suggestion, I'm "sleeping on it," but by the time we left the animal shelter I'd made up my mind and I imagine it'll change. When it comes to these types of decisions, I tend to know when I've decided and I really don't change my mind afterward. But, there's no harm in waiting until tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, we're trying to get the invisible fence to work and I picked up dog supplies at the store this morning. A quick run-through of the house tomorrow to do some dog-proofing (like moving the kitchen trash to beneath the sink vs. beside the fridge) and we're in business.
Now, I just need to decide if my ideal dog name, Sherman, really fits the dog I'll be getting or if a back up name might be required.
This is a collaborative blog. Well, let's face it, they all are. But, specifically, this one's a collaboration between me, my friend Camii, and sometimes my brother. Here you'll find waitressing stories, bar quotes, movie reviews, and the occasional cake.

BRUNO!!!
Test the invisible fence on your brother, maybe he'll get credit for one of his classes or something.
Saffron.
After testing the fence on Casey, test it on John.
Not Bruno. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever.
To paraphrase Jenny: When it's your dog/baby you name whatever you want, when it's mine, it's not going to be Bruno :)
Good idea Deb, I want to make sure it tests consistently and all.
