This is a collaborative blog. Well, let's face it, they all are. But, specifically, this one's a collaboration between me, my friend Camii, and sometimes my brother. Here you'll find waitressing stories, bar quotes, movie reviews, and the occasional cake.

Ceilidh

Last night I looked through my closet for something green to wear today. I had an interesting revelation: aside from a green work shirt, I ownly own one other shirt/blouse/etc. that even has green in it. By way of contrast, I've got quite a lot of brown and red. Huh. But, I do have that one shirt, and even a pair of dark green pants, so I was safe from pinching all day.

St. Pat's was much more fun this year than it's been the past two. Not working at the bar had heaps to do with that. Also helping was the "Evening of Women's Poetry" shindig I went to. In part it was a reception for the winners of the Southern Colorado Women's Poetry contest, in part it was live music by a celtic music duo, and in part it was a lesson in folk dancing.

Yes, ladies and gents, I danced. I was coerced and only did the one song (out of two while I was there), but I danced. The last time I danced was when I was similarly coerced while I was at junior prom (which was also the last time, barring Jenny & Shane's wedding, when I wore a dress for anything other than an orchestra concert).

It was fun and it abounded in English geeks, so it was a good night out for me. A far cry, for sure, from the state of mind I'd be in right now if I hadn't weaseled out of working.
