This is a collaborative blog. Well, let's face it, they all are. But, specifically, this one's a collaboration between me, my friend Camii, and sometimes my brother. Here you'll find waitressing stories, bar quotes, movie reviews, and the occasional cake.

It's Like Goulash

Jenny: Did you get a haircut?
Me: Yeah, about two months ago.

I like goulash necklaces because they're a handy way to clear out oddball beads. You only need a few of whatever because you add them to whatever else you've got and string it all up and do a multi-strand necklace. As long as you're operating within a certain color scheme, you can't go wrong, even though the beads you use are all different sizes and shapes. It's all about texture, and it works out beautifully. So, this necklace is all manner of glass seed beads and crystals, with a few brass bugles thrown in for flavor.

The reason I mention the haircut is because I struck a deal with Lita on my last one. Instead of paying her cash, we made a trade. I got a haircut, and she got two necklaces. One of which was this one.

That's funny. Fall is my favorite, too. I can't identify many birds by their song/cry. Ones I grew up around maybe. Bobwhites (quail) and Killdeer come to mind. But how cool that you have so many in your neighborhood. And I'm impressed that you recognize so many. Every so often I spot a red fox when I'm on an early morning walk. Love that.
