New Roof

*Stomp, bang, stomp, stomp*
-Roofer noises

On Monday night the roofers said they would come no earlier than nine the following morning (because I like to sleep until about eight-thirty). Tuesday at seven-thirty, I hear a big diesel truck backing into my driveway, followed shortly by the sounds of people on the roof. I don't understand how the disconnnect happened, I really don't. This morning, they arrived even earlier and were tromping about just past seven. I cannot wait until they are done and gone.

Movie Review: Grindhouse. The early wake-up was not helped by the fact that I went to see this movie last night at 10:30, which meant getting home a little past two this morning. Good flick, though. Mostly. Let me qualify: Planet of Terror was great. Full of gratuitous everything and with great, and somewhat unexpected, actors (like Bruce Willis, Naveen Andrews, and Michael Biehn), this one was full-on entertainment. Deathproof got tedious real quick, too much girly chit-chat and not enough giving a damn, and was only partially redeemed in its second part when Zoe Bell, Rosario Dawson, and Tracie Thoms take the lead. Not suprisingly, it was Tarantino's baby I didn't care for. Gotta love the "Prevues" though. Fun to watch, but I'd recommend going to the theater a bit earlier in the evening.
