This is a collaborative blog. Well, let's face it, they all are. But, specifically, this one's a collaboration between me, my friend Camii, and sometimes my brother. Here you'll find waitressing stories, bar quotes, movie reviews, and the occasional cake.

Got Stuck

In preparation for the MAV I got a couple of vaccines today. Since mom was concerned that I was up-to-date on tetanus, I'm taking that as another clue. One doesn't typically need shots to stay in the country, and the timing can't be coincidental.

Let me just say, I loathe needles. While I consider myself an otherwise tough gal, when it comes to shots I turn into a big wimp. I think it has to do with the whole concept of seeking out pain, because while you accidentally stub your toe, you don't accidentally get a tetanus shot.

Thank George the gal who gave me my shots believes in a philosophy which she described as, "Just stick 'em quick." After sitting in the waiting area, psyching myself out about getting punctured, the shots were over fast and didn't actually hurt. *Whew* Now my arm's a bit sore, which will be great for when I go into the bar in a couple hours and commence with a night of carrying stuff. At least I have Bugs Bunny bandaids.

Ironically enough, when I walked over to the bookstore on campus for an SCWP errand, what's sitting by the front door but a Bonfils van and a sign advertising a blood drive today.

teehee, no, you are right, you do not accidentally get a tetnus shot :)
I'm glad it was a quick and (somewhat)painless experience for you.

ok, so, as Jenny says, a long (but, you know, fun) golf cart ride to Mesa Verde -- and a hotel that's under construction. Loose nails lying around and all that.

It's so Mexico! Machu Picchu is too far I think -- I'm guessing Cancun.

When I was in bootcamp they had us in a single file line with three guys on each side with needle guns of some sort...you'd step fwd, get shot in each arm, step fwd, get shot., etc., what a blast! My favorite part was when they gave us all peniccilan (sp?) in the ass cheek, then made us sit indian style and roll back and forth to work it into the muscle - they said it would hurt less later by doing this...it didn't.
